To become a Participant Program:
1. Use the following checklist to decide whether your program qualifies as an MPSRA team:

- The team draws from a single school or school district and/or draws from 2 school districts (board approval required for 2-district programs)

-  All athletes are public school students, are Juniors (as defined by the MPSRA Procedural Rules), compete only for this team during the championship season, and are eligible to participate in sports under their school's guidelines.

-  The team does not draw any athletes from areas served by current MPSRA teams

-  The team's mission is in line with the MPSRA's mission of developing public school programs throughout the commonwealth.

-  The team is recognized by the school(s) it serves (note: this recognition does not require that the team hold varsity status at the school nor that the school participate in running the team.) An individual school may recognize only one MPSRA program as its official team.

2.  Read through the League's Procedural Rules (under "League Rules" tab, with special focus on Articles II, III, V, VII and VIII

3.  Fill out the MPSRA Program Application (under "League Rules" tab) and submit to the Board for review.  A complete application also includes a letter from the school(s) athletic director(s) stating that the program is recognized by the school.  Applications must be submitted before the league's general meeting on the 2nd weekend in January.  Late applications will be considered at the Board's discretion.

4.  Meet with the MPSRA Board to discuss league rules and program organization prior to acceptance of application.
